Dr. James Heinegg has been hired as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the Roxbury School District. Dr. Heinegg joins Roxbury from Saddle Brook Public Schools, where he served as Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction/Director of Testing since 2001. Dr. Heinegg earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Teachers College Columbia University. He also holds a master’s degree in Teaching and a second master’s degree in Philosophy. His undergraduate degree is in Philosophy from Union College in Schenectady, NY.
Dr. Heinegg is looking forward to his new position. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve as the new Assistant Superintendent. Roxbury is a wonderful community, and its schools have an outstanding record of achievement. I am looking forward to working with the educators, parents, and community at large for the continued success of the students of Roxbury," said Dr. Heinegg.
According to School Superintendent, Dr. Michael Rossi, “Dr. Heinegg brings to Roxbury a breadth of experience that will help our teachers and administrators meet the ever growing demands of teaching in the 21st century. Dr. Heinegg’s professional approach and quiet demeanor, combined with a track record of excellence both as a teacher and administrator, will serve us well for many years. I am excited to begin working with him.”
