Lincoln Roosevelt School Accomplishments

Lincoln Roosevelt School is proud to share the following accomplishments for
the 2006-2007 school year.

 

Lincoln Roosevelt School Academic Accomplishments

    • Language Arts Literacy was set up as a block schedule to support the teaching of the Harcourt Series.
       
    • A large number of students were included on the all “A” list for each marking period.
       
    • Many sixth grade students were recipients of the President’s Education Awards for academic excellence.
       
    • Two state merit award winners for the Reflections Project.
       
    • Four honorable mention winners in the “What Prejudice Means To Me” Contest.

Lincoln Roosevelt School Extra Curricular Accomplishments / Key Events

There were many key events and highlights at Lincoln/Roosevelt School during the 2006/2007 school year.  Some of the noteworthy events are listed below: 

·        9/11 Remembrance – Candles were placed in all front windows on 9/11 to remember those who died on 9/11/01

 ·        TREE Trips to Camp Speers Eljabar for the sixth grade took place in the spring

·        Dare to Care Holiday Collection – Collected a huge amount of toys, food, clothing, and money for people in need in the community.

 ·        Band, Chorus and Orchestra concerts in December and May.  Also other performances in other locations.

 ·        DARE Graduations for our 5th graders in January at EMS

 ·        PTA Book Sales in the fall and spring

 ·        PTA Plant Sale for Mother’s Day

·        Holiday Shopping sponsored by the PTA in December

 ·        Haunted Hallway sponsored by PTA for Halloween

 ·        Talent show for 5th, and 6th grade in June

 ·        Hometown Hero program to honor local citizens

 ·        Spelling Bee

 ·        Sixth Grade Day

 ·        Geography Bee

 ·        Grade 6 Honors Choir, Art Club, Computer/Art Club and Student Council.

·        Fair Day to raise funds for scholarships on last day of school

 ·        Que Pasa Day

·        Art Show held in our Lincoln Auditorium

·        “Dogpatch” production performed by Forensics Club

·        Inception of the K-Kids group mirroring the Key Club at RHS

·        Monthly guidance newsletter

·        Newcomers group supported by guidance

·        Numerous PTA Assembly programs for the entire school thanks to the Cultural Arts committee
