STUDENT JOB DESCRIPTIONS

 

EMS Media Center

Succasunna, NJ

Customer Service Specialists (All shifts)

Welcome visitors to the Book Fair.
Memorize prices and locations of popular items.
Help customers with locating and checking prices.
Encourage participation in the "Classroom Wish List."
Encourage participation in the "One for Books" program.
Invite students to enter contests and participate in activities.
Help arrange displays of products on tables and shelves.
Keep all displays in a neat and orderly fashion.
Create a "Shopper - Friendly" environment.
Ensure that signs are in the proper place.
Thank visitors for attending.

Decoration/Promotion Specialists (All shifts)

Help create and develop décor based on the Fair theme.
Help organize contests and giveaways.
Seek prizes and privileges for contest winners.
Maintain a list of "Contacts" and write "Thank-you Notes."
Assist with decorating, when needed.

Loss Prevention/Safety Specialists (All shifts)

Inspect and monitor conditions and situations around the fair.
Clean up conditions that might lead to accidents or property damage.
Monitor shoppers and products with an eye to safety.
Circulate throughout the Fair to offer assistance.
Coordinate a courteous check-in of backpacks and jackets, if needed.
Discreetly report suspicious behaviors to the Book Fair Chairperson.

Project Specialists

Focus on keeping teachers aware of the Fair.
Plan, promote, and help conduct Teacher Preview sessions.
Encourage teachers to participate in the Classroom Wish List program.
Know complete job descriptions of all other specialists.
Assist in other job responsibilities on an as needed basis.
