Eisenhower Middle School prides itself in providing students with a quality education that will allow each child to develop into a well-rounded individual with the skills needed to be successful in any future endeavor he or she may choose.
Currently, Eisenhower Middle School consists of grades seven and eight, serving approximately 680 students. As part of a district that believes every child’s education is important, we employ top quality teachers that believe in educating our youth to meet the demands of the future. Our teachers’ mission is to challenge each student, while instilling within him or her the confidence needed to be successful at any level. Eisenhower Middle School provides various courses of academic instruction in an effort to ensure that the needs of every student are met.
The “teaming” concept has continued to be successful due to the dedication of our professional staff. Teams are comprised of the core content areas: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. In addition to our comprehensive Physical Education and Health program, World Languages, Computer Science, Music and Art are offered through our cycle program. This organization of interdisciplinary teams and cycles, in conjunction with our guidance services, creates an environment within Eisenhower Middle School that is responsive to our students’ needs. It is our goal to educate students and assist them in developing cognitively, socially and emotionally.
Eisenhower Middle School also believes a well-rounded education takes place not only within the classroom but outside of the classroom as well. It is through various athletic programs, extra-curricular activities, music ensembles, and academic clubs that students can develop valuable team based skills, give back to the community that supports them, and develop long lasting friendships. Band, Choir, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Drama, Literary Magazine, Art, Stock Market Club, Chess Club, Builders Club, Yearbook, Student Counsel, Peer Leaders, Wrestling, Track, and Basketball are offered at EMS.
Eisenhower Middle School is proud of its reputation as a student-centered institution and is dedicated to the continuation of our school being an integral part of the Roxbury community. Our link to our parents has proven to be an invaluable tool in our growth as a school. Our teams work to stay in contact with our parents, working cooperatively to aid the success for all students. Our PTA has contributed to our positive environment through their varied contributions and social activities. This community support along with the dedication of our teaching staff will continue to help us prosper and prepare our students for their futures.
