Character Education
At Eisenhower Middle School we believe in order to provide our students with a quality education that will allow each child to develop into a well-rounded individual with the skills needed to be successful in any future endeavor he or she may choose, Character Education is key.
As part of an initiative at Eisenhower Middle School to implement a Character Education program, EMS will recognize a different character trait each month. This recognition will be awarded to those students that embody that month's trait both inside and outside of the classroom while positively contributing to the school's overall community.

"Pillars of Character"
The Pillars of character stand tall
We need six and not one can fall
They reach to the sky
And hold us up high
And guide us to make the right call
The Pillar of trust is the first
Be honest, don’t lie—that’s the worst
Do what is right
Don’t run from your plight
Let the Pillar stay strong and not burst
Respect is the tall Pillar Two
You know what it wants you to do
Follow the rule
And try to be “cool”
Treat others as they should treat you
Be Responsible warns Pillar Three
Be accountable, diligent and free
Let your inner voices
Make ethical choices
To be all the best you can be
Pillar Four wants us to be rare
Weigh the scales and show that you care
Be consistent and true
In all that you do
Be impartial and balanced—be fair!
Caring surrounds Pillar Five
Be kind, try to keep love alive
It’s all about heart
And being a part
Of helping mankind to survive
Be a citizen proclaims Pillar Six
And do all that you can to fix
The political fate
Of school, country and state
Get out there and vote for your picks
“Character Counts” as you all now must know
So be the person who’s willing to show
You’ll travel the length
Using Pillars for strength
Trust your values to help friend or foe
