Dear Parents,
You know that Old
Man Winter will be upon us soon so if you have not had the
opportunity to look at your profile on the Honeywell Instant Alert
for Schools System, I would suggest that you do it. All parents
will receive a message on their home phone if we close for inclement
weather or for any other emergency. If you access your profile, and
work through the steps, you will have the option of receiving
messages by email, cell phone, and/or text messages. The Internet
site for accessing your profile in the Honeywell Instant Alert for
Schools System is
https://instantalert.honeywell.com Click on “Parent” in the New
User box and that should get you started. If you have a problem,
please call the school and we will be happy to assist you.
This time of year
is very special as we gather with family and friends for a variety
of activities. Parties, concerts, and travel plans all need to be
scheduled on the calendar. May I suggest that you try to prioritize
what your family will and will not be able to do? Though the days
are shorter in December, we seem to try to pack much into a short
amount of time. Please help your children to stay well rested and
focused on school this month. You may also want to decide which
events are most special to you and your family and eliminate those
that cause you and your children to become “over-scheduled” and
stressed out.
Whether you
celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, I would like to wish all
of our Franklin School Families a wonderful and safe holiday
season.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mary Ann Boyd
Principal
