100 YEARS OF EDUCATION IN ROXBURY TO BE SHOWCASED AT LIBRARY

During the month of February 2004, the Roxbury School District will be proudly using the display cases in the Roxbury Public Library to showcase relics of the past 100 years.

This display is just one way that the Roxbury Board of Education, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the Roxbury community are recognizing the Roxbury School District’s One Hundred Years of Education as a consolidated school district.

Items that will be showcased include, but are not limited to:  past editions of the district yearbook – The Echo, Board of Education Policy Manuals from the early 1900’s, pictures, articles adorning the districts original colors – black and orange and various forms of recognition bestowed upon the district.

Along with the items in the showcase, the most recent district newsletter – OUR SCHOOLS will be left in the holder to the left of the display case.  This newsletter contains an article entitled, A Walk Back Through Time written by Mrs. Marge Cushing, President of the Roxbury Historical Society.  This article briefly highlights the history of the Roxbury School District.  Community members are invited to take a newsletter.
