As the school year got underway in the Roxbury School District, a new face was added to the administrative team. Joining Roxbury Public Schools as the Director of Community Relations and Community School is Mrs. Danielle Lynch. We are also proud to say that Danielle is a Roxbury High School graduate. Mrs. Lynch is a highly motivated, innovative, and dedicated individual. Recently, she was instrumental in arranging the celebration of 100 Years of Education in Roxbury.
For the past nine years, Danielle has been an instructor in the Roxbury Community School Summer Program. As Head Teacher for the Calling All Kids program, she coordinated staff efforts to provide preschool-age children with developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning opportunities. In addition to coordinating and instructing in the Calling All Kids program, she also taught drama to elementary school children and arts and crafts to children in grades one through eight in the enrichment portion of the Roxbury Community School Summer Program.
During the school year, Mrs. Lynch was a teacher for the Bernards Township School District. During her nine years in that district, she had the opportunity to teach students in kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to bringing her students together into a learning community where each child was valued and where their successes were recognized and celebrated, she made the students’ families active participants in this learning community. In addition to communicating regularly with the families of her own students, she also had many opportunities to speak publicly to the district’s townspeople concerning developmentally appropriate practices and how the district’s curriculum meets the needs of their children.
Mrs. Lynch received her BA in Psychology and Elementary Certification from Rutgers University in 1995. Mrs. Lynch also possesses two Masters, one of which is from Rutgers University and the second is from NOVA Southeastern University.
During her post-graduate work, Mrs. Lynch worked with Dr. Lesley Morrow, professor at Rutgers University and Vice President of the International Reading Association, as a research assistant, as well as a contributing author to her text entitled, Organizing and Managing the Language Arts Block.
Mrs. Lynch resides in Mount Olive with her husband of four years, 23 month old daughter, and two dogs. In her free time, Mrs. Lynch most enjoys spending time with her family, “The time I am able to spend with my husband and daughter is priceless. I treasure every moment of it.” Personal interests include: scrap booking, reading, baking, taking long walks, and finding a few peaceful moments to relax.
We are thrilled to have Mrs. Lynch joining the administrative team in the Roxbury School District.
