The Lincoln/Roosevelt School Hometown Heroes Awards Program was developed to give extraordinary individuals the recognition they deserve, but rarely receive.
This year the following individuals were recognized during the annual Hometown Heroes Awards Program: John Nitto, Bruce Blondina, Charles Alpaugh, Georganne Pisorchik, Eston O’Brien, John Harrison, Jordana Zeger, Neal R. Sino, Catherine McLaughlin and Larry Smith.
Each of these individuals was honored with an award and kind words regarding their countless contributions to those in Roxbury and beyond. Additionally, the program was enhanced with chorus performances, dancing, reading of poetry and story telling all done by the students in the Lincoln/Roosevelt Forensic Club.
All award recipients are local residents, who demonstrate selfless acts of kindness, generosity and caring. They are individual who work to better our community through volunteer and community service or show exceptional sacrifice, fortitude and community service or show exceptional sacrifice, fortitude and compassion for their families and neighbors. This year’s inductees represented the good that is in our community.
