Director of Transportation
(973-584-6756)

Dear Parent/Guardian:
The Transportation Department would like your
child/children’s experience riding a school bus to be a pleasant one.
This takes cooperation from all concerned.
For your information, we would like you to be aware
of the following:
- Drivers
are not permitted to make unauthorized stops. They must follow the Board approved route, and students
are permitted to board and depart only at their assigned stop.
- Students
should be at their assigned bus stop 5 minutes before bus arrival time.
- Kindergarten
students are bused, however we do not make door-to-door pickups.
Students are bused as conveniently as possible.
- If
you child goes to a babysitter, it must be in the designated session for
your child, or transportation will be you or your sitter’s responsibility.
Babysitting must be a permanent five-day a week arrangement and must
be requested in writing.
- This
should be done prior to August 1st.
- We
bus from home to school and back and are not permitted to bus for religious
instructions, parties and/or club meetings.
- If
an emergency arises, i.e. illness in family, alternate arrangements may be
made in writing to the building principal or by phone followed by written
confirmation. Please specify
where the child is to go and with whom.
- It
is helpful if students know their name and full address.
- Please
be sure someone is home to receive young children.
You are strongly advised to have an emergency plan in place in the
event you are not home when your child arrives.
Your child should be aware of this plan.
- For
the safety of all, students are expected to conform to the attached safety
tips. Any repeated violations
could result in revoked riding privileges.
If you have questions or
problems, please call the Transportation Office.
