Recently, Roosevelt
Cluster Fifth Graders of Lincoln/Roosevelt School hosted a Math Fair for their
families and the community of Roxbury. This
Math Fair, which was created by Mrs. Sharon Jordan and Miss Jennifer Hallet and
organized by them, as well as Mrs. Bethany Miller and Mrs. Kelly LaMont, was a
well attended event, where the children got to showcase what they have been
learning in Math.
According to Mrs. Sharon Jordan, “Math can be challenging and creative, but still be fun and rewarding.”
She went on to state, “We wanted to do something "different" and yet still teach the math skills of estimation, rounding, computing, calculating and logical reasoning. We also wanted the children to learn how to teach someone else how to play a game they’ve created, as well as how to explain how to get an answer if the person is struggling with finding the correct answer.
