The Roxbury High School Service Learning Program was featured in the January issue of NEA Today.
Service Learning is a program begun by RHS teacher Lori Baker and paraprofessional Betty Capra. The program awards students five credits to work at a variety of occupations in Roxbury High School.
Different jobs include working in the attendance office, the switchboard, or with the custodial staff. The program also brings work to be done into the classroom. These in class jobs include preparing mailings for the school’s student body and faculty, as well as other miscellaneous jobs.
The program has been a great success for the students and the school. To read the complete NEA Today article visit… http://www.nea.org/neatoday/0401/esp.html
