Whoosh! There goes another change in software publishers' policies that affect countless school districts. Recently, Lily Chang, Supervisor of Technology for the Roxbury School District, organized a fun and informative workshop that provided district staff with information on equipping the district’s classrooms with software that is cost effective.
Those who attended the workshop found out which software is the most considerate of educators. They learned about which publishers provide work at home privileges for educators and/or students and they also learned of little known promotions that can help them and the district save money.
When asked to reflect on the aspects of the workshop that the staff found to be most helpful, the staff was very positive in their responses. Overall, the staff enjoyed being exposed to the many kinds of available software. They also found information regarding digital imaging and professional resources on the web to be most beneficial.
