Franklin School recently hosted an assembly given by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) for the second and third grades.
The USTA clinicians transformed the Franklin gymnasium into a tennis court filled with fun tennis games and exciting tennis exhibitions. The USTA’s program was the starting point for the introduction of the school’s tennis unit. The program introduced the sport to students who would not ordinarily belong to clubs and may not be able to afford to take lessons.
The tennis unit benefited students in many ways. Students learned that tennis provides exercise as a lifelong sport, contributes to positive self-esteem and is fun.
