CREATIVE PHYSICAL FITNESS ACTIVITY GETS KIDS EXCITED ABOUT EXERCISE

The first graders at Franklin School recently took part in a Locomotor License test, which was created by Mr. Russ Redmond, Physical Education teacher at Franklin School.

Modeled after their parents’ driver’s license test, the students experienced their own road course.  Following the signs along the side of the “road”, the students had to jog (Speed Limit 30 MPH), hop (flat tire), skip (over the railroad tracks), run (Speed Limit 55 MPH), and even leap (over the rubber chicken in the road). Each student was given their own “Locomotor License” after successful completion of ten basic movements.

“The children are so excited to receive their license after completion of the course,” states Mr. Redmond.
