At Franklin School, students have the opportunity to join the school’s Early Act Club, which is under the advisorship of Mrs. Carol Pellet, Guidance Counselor at Franklin School. This club, which is supported by the Roxbury Rotary, currently has forty students who are participating. The club sponsors a variety of fundraisers, which benefit the club’s school, community and international programs.
In December, the Early Act Club collected socks and underwear for Social Services. They also made and sent holiday cards to a nursing home. The club’s most recent fundraiser is providing funds for the students to create a mural in the school entry at Franklin and to purchase a water filter for a family in Honduras. “This club is motivating and it helps the students to learn about community service,” states Mrs. Pellet.
