STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES WEBSITE:  A WEALTH OF INFORMATION

Roxbury School District staff, students, parents and community members are encouraged to keep in mind the wealth of information regarding student support services that can be found on the Roxbury School District’s web site.  These available in and out of district services can be utilized to meet the academic, career and personal/social development needs of our children.

Through a competitive grant awards process, the Roxbury School District was only one of thirteen districts selected by the Department of Education to participate in a pilot program, which fostered the development of a comprehensive model for student support services in New Jersey's public school districts.  The Student Support and Services sub site to www.roxbury.org was developed as a result of this grant and in turn the process that has gone into developing a comprehensive model for student support services.

In addition to the efforts of all of this work benefiting the Roxbury community as a whole, the Roxbury Support Services model has been shared with districts throughout the state via the New Jersey Department of Education along with the other twelve districts’, which have received the grant.

Within District Support and Services, programs and groups are highlighted and their functions are clearly outlined. Services described include:  Pupil Assistance Committee, Intervention and Referral Services, Guidance programs for the elementary, middle and high school levels, Core Team, and School Health Services.  Additionally, the Out of District Resources link offers community members names, addresses and phone numbers that would be helpful with: Children’s Services, Family Services, Hotlines, Recreation, Bereavement, Hospitals / Rehabilitation, Substance Abuse, Eating Disorders / Weight Management, Diabetes Management, Parenting Information, and Women’s Issues.
