Roxbury Township Lincoln/Roosevelt students are celebrating National Metric Math week with a Metric Olympics Event.
October 10, 2005 officially kicked off National Metric Week which was designed to encourage students to estimate the outcome of the Olympic competition using the metric system’s decimal theme. On Thursday, October 20, 2005, the Lincoln/Roosevelt students estimated the outcome of the events, which included Paper Plate Discus and Drinking Straw Javelin, and compared their estimates with actual results which are “spins” of real Olympic events.
