Students were excited to hear about the Olympics that is going to be held in Beijing, China on 8/8/2008 with the slogan of |

The students had an opportunity to see the Olympics 2008 memorabilia, collector medallions, that Mr. and Mrs. Chang brought back from their recent trip to Beijing, China. |
||||
|
Mr. and Mrs. Chang set up a series of hands-on learning stations in the Kennedy Media Center for students to experience Chinese culture. Mr. Chang was remarkable with his brush strokes while making Chinese words using the art of Chinese Calligraphy. He even wrote Kennedy School in Chinese, something special for all of us! |

The children learned about the many uses and products made from the bamboo plant and even had a chance to practice using chopsticks. |

|
The boys and girls were introduced to Chinese past time games such as Tangrams, Mahjong, Rock Paper Scissors and Chinese Chess. |

The 2nd graders had an opportunity to see actual Chinese handicrafts such as meticulous silk embroidery from Shouzou, China, pieces of microscopic hand carved works of art on ivory that could only be visible with the use of a magnifier. |
