established the rewards of a home-school partnership
in educating our children. With this in mind, it is our hope that the Curriculum

Mrs. Audrey Wallock, Principal of Kennedy School, comments, “I think this is an amazing site. It is a great resource for all of us, but especially parents or anyone interested in Roxbury as a place to live. It is a broad snapshot for everyone to see all that is happening in our district.”
Following is a brief description of what can be found at each link:
District Overview – It is here that individuals are able to discover the configuration of the school district, as well as read building based narratives. Links to the individual schools’ web sites, as well as links to administrator emails are available here, as well.
Grade Level Essential Learnings – For each grade level, expectations have been identified. These expectations have been derived from the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Each descriptor offers insight into what a child should be able to accomplish by the end of the specified grade level.
Curriculum – While the Grade Level Essential Learnings focus on specific grade levels, the curriculum page will enable readers to see the continuum of concepts/skills within a particular subject.
Resources – Organized by subject matter, this link provides students, staff, and parents/guardians with on-line access to valuable resources that will be used in the classrooms. Examples of materials located here include: Adobe PDF versions of the Holistic Scoring Writing Rubrics that will be used in the K-5 classrooms and New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards designated by grade levels. Links to district web subscriptions, including Study Island and Net Trekker, can also be found here.
Extra Curricular Opportunities – Available extra curricular opportunities for students in Grades 5-12 are highlighted.
District Accomplishments – In an effort to share the many wonderful things that occur in our schools, this link enables readers to learn about the many academic, extra curricular and athletic accomplishments that our students and staff have attained in the previous school year.
School Home Alliance for Reaching Excellence – Also known as S.H.A.R.E., this link is a venue for the Curriculum and Instruction Department to keep the community at large informed of district initiatives, as well as offer educational guidance and support to parents/guardians.
Staff Development Calendar – Highlights and reminds staff of upcoming district trainings.
