The Roxbury Township School District and the Roxbury Township Police Department continue to work together to promote a safe environment for our students.  Our community utilizes two School Resource Officers through shared services to foster an open line of communication between the Police Department and our School District. Officers frequently visit our schools and have a rapport with students, staff and administrators.

We have utilized new technology and have installed new digital security systems at Roxbury High School, Eisenhower Middle School and Lincoln/Roosevelt School.  A new entry system has been installed at all of our elementary schools, Lincoln/Roosevelt School and Eisenhower Middle School.  This system has visitors viewed on camera for clearance prior to being buzzed in. Employees have been provided identification badges to help students identify staff if assistance is needed during a crisis.

Our district crisis plan is in place and drills are practiced regularly.  Our students and staff are prepared and react accordingly during our various drills and have support of the Police Department to ensure drills are running efficiently. Security checks are completed on a regular basis and we continue to improve based on feedback received. Our substitute staff and new teachers have been introduced to our crisis plan during their orientations this summer.  Staff members had the opportunity to discuss their concerns and the Police Department and Administration were able to respond to their needs. Administrators also participated in a safety training workshop hosted by School Resource Officer, Randy Brands and Lieutenant Jim Simonetti

We will continue to evaluate new ways to better improve security and visibility.
