WALKING FOR A CAUSE
On October 19, 2003, Carole Melillo, Davida Nitka and Stephen Schnakenberg, teachers at Nixon School, joined over 4,500 people in Madison, New Jersey to Make Strides Against Breast Cancer. This was Ms. Nitka, Ms. Melillo and Mr. Schnakenberg’s second annual walk. This year they raised $295.00 to donate to the American Cancer Society. Other teachers from Nixon School participated in the Susan G. Komen event in Princeton. Ms. Nitka commented, “As you walked, you spoke with people from all over who in some way have had cancer effect their lives. When all was said and done, we were tired, but we felt great because we played a part in making a difference.”
