RHS TEACHER ACHIEVES CERTIFIED JOURNALISM EDUCATOR STATUS

Mr. Jeffrey Swanson, Principal of Roxbury High School, is proud to announce that Mrs. Jane K. Hopper, teacher of Journalism and advisor to the staff of the Roxbury Review, has been awarded Certified Journalism Educator status.

This certification recognizes those teachers who have achieved national standards of preparation to teach journalism classes and advise student publications.  In addition to this certification, Mrs. Jane Hopper proudly advises our Award Winning High School Newspaper, which was recently recognized as the best school newspaper in the State of New Jersey for the third consecutive year.  Once again, this year, The Roxbury Review has achieved first place for overall excellence in the Garden State Scholastic Press Association’s (GSSPA) annual journalism competition.

Mrs. Hopper’s recognition does not come as a surprise to Roxbury High School Principal, Mr. Jeffrey Swanson.  Mr. Swanson is quite proud and said, “Mrs. Hopper continues to do a fabulous job as advisor of our school paper.  She honors the tenets of journalism and instills them in her pupils. This accreditation is national validation of the experience we know she possesses.”
