Kennedy School believes in the motto “Bully Free and Safe Schools.” In response to the Roxbury School District’s Guardian Angels initiative, Principal Daniel Illiano, the faculty, staff, students and parents of Kennedy School are putting forth a united effort to show “Teachers for Kids, Parents for Kids and Kids for Kids.”
According to Mr. Illiano, “Each classroom will record its random acts of caring, helping and kindness. Additionally, families of Kennedy School children will observe and record kind deeds, which their children are performing outside of the school setting. The school’s total will be continually graphed and displayed in the Kennedy School hall.”
Students recognized for a demonstrating a random act of kindness will receive a “Good Citizenship Ticket.”
At the November 3, 2003 Board of Education public meeting, the Kennedy School Second Graders will portray skits of kindness and share their thoughts regarding the program, “Teachers for Kids, Parents for Kids and Kids for Kids.”
