LINCOLN/ROOSESVELT EARTH DAY RECYCLING CONTEST

Fifth Graders in Lincoln/Roosevelt School were challenged by Mrs. Jeanne Maurella, their enrichment teacher, to create a project out of recyclables found around their homes.  These projects were then entered in a school-based Earth Day Contest.

The best fourteen creations were awarded the opportunity to attend The Clean Ocean Action’s 16th Annual Student Summit in Sandy Hook, New Jersey on May 13, 2004.  The activities included in the Summit present the students with hands-on interdisciplinary marine and environmental education experiences that complement the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards for Science.

The following were the winners of the Earth Day Recycling Contest:  Jessica Baylor, Megan Amadori, Staci Faul, Holly Larson, Nick Goolic, Trey Dix, Danny Geiger, Danielle Cole, Kellie Kucinski, Mary Migton, Marnie Dubos, Emily Grunwald, Cassie Sheehan and Lauren Walker.
