The
Eisenhower Middle School Boys’ Basketball Team and Wrestling Team have both
excelled during this winter season.
This
past season the Eisenhower Middle School Boys' Basketball Team won the large
school championship for the Greater Morris County Jr. Sports Association. It was
the first time in twenty-seven years that the EMS team won this prestigious
championship.
The
team finished with a record of 15 wins and zero losses. Kevin Ahern was the most
valuable player for the team and averaged 25.2 points per game. The coaches for
this year’s team were Jack Kummerer and Tito Solis.
Additionally,
in only its fifth year of
existence, the Eisenhower Middle School Wrestling Team won the Greater Morris
County Jr. Championship. There were twenty teams involved in this tournament and
EMS was awarded three gold and three silver medals. Mr. Mike Parker and Mr. Joe
Gangemi coach this outstanding team.
“The EMS administration is very proud of the proficiency in sports and more importantly in sportsmanship that these outstanding young men displayed throughout the season,” stated Mr. John DePalma, Principal of EMS.
