Roxbury High School has announced the names of its students selected as Edward J. Students selected as Bloustein Distinguished Scholars placed in the top 10% of their classes and have a minimum combined SAT score of 1260, or are ranked first, second or third in their class, as of the end of the junior year.  More than 5,000 Distinguished Scholars received award offers for the coming academic year.  For these scholars, the average SAT verbal score is 670 and the average SAT math score is 694.

The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA), an independent agency of New Jersey, administers the Garden State Scholarship Program, which includes the Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar awards.  Students who receive this recognition for their high level of academic achievement are able to use their awards to continue their education at New Jersey institutions of higher education.  The annual value of the Distinguished Scholar Award is determined by the amount appropriated for this program.  Award values are contingent upon actual funding levels, which will not be known until the budget is reviewed by the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Codey.  This process will be completed by July 1, 2005.
