COMMENDED STUDENTS IN THE 2005
NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

 

The Roxbury School District is pleased to announce the names of Roxbury High School students who have been named Commended Students in the 2005 National Merit Scholarship Program.  These students include:  Darren Chan, Dana Harrington, Chinanuekpe Ihiasota, Julie Linden, Gregory Najda and Jessica Schwartz. 

Mr. Jeffery Swanson, Principal of Roxbury High School, will present a Letter of Commendation from Roxbury High School and The National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, to these scholastically talented seniors.

About 34, 000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although they will not continue in the 2005 competition for Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than one million students who entered the 2005 competition by taking the 2003 Preliminary SAT / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
