Winners of the Ninth Annual District Wide Spelling Bee for fourth and fifth graders are: First Place – Megan Zanes, Second Place – Kristina Rivero and Third Place – Jordan Matelsky. All three are students of Lincoln/Roosevelt School. Mrs. Patricia Bihon – Supervisor of Humanities, Grades K-5, coordinated the efforts of Mr. Scott Huguenin and Ms. Janice Eberding – Enrichment Teachers.
The top nine winners of the contest receive Barnes and Nobles gift certificates of varying amounts. The certificates are purchased with monies that are donated by the PTA’s of Franklin, Jefferson, Kennedy, Nixon and Lincoln/Roosevelt Schools.
The top spelling bee student from each fourth and fifth grade classroom in the district comprises the contestants of the District Wide Spelling Bee.
