WORLD LEADERSHIP FORUM

Lindsay Alexander, Eisenhower Middle School student, recently had the rare opportunity to participate in the People to People World Leadership Forum – a forum dedicated to helping students learn more about the issues of leadership through the study of important people, places and events.  Lindsay was one of only 20 New Jersey student delegates and one of approximately 100 students nationwide to participate in this year’s forum in Washington, D.C. from April 11, 2005 to April 17, 2005.

Since participation in this program is for a few select individuals, Lindsay’s participation is merited to her strong academic and leadership skills.  Lindsay was nominated by Mrs. Maureen Giordano, Lincoln/Roosevelt School teacher, and was accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic, merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.

During the seven day forum, Lindsay had the rare opportunity to explore defining moments in American history, delve into the governing traits and styles that have made this nation strong, discover the great meaning within the monuments, memorials and museums of our nation’s capital.

The program is coordinated by People to People Student Ambassador Programs to fulfill the vision Dwight D. Eisenhower had for fostering world citizenship when he founded People to People during his presidency in 1956.
