YOUNG WOMEN LEADERS DAY

Across the nation, March is considered to be Women’s History Month.  In honor of this, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is hosting a “Young Women Leaders Day” at the Statehouse in Trenton on March 8, 2005.  Two high school seniors were selected from each New Jersey County to attend this event.

Roxbury High School’s Brittany K. Smith will proudly represent Morris County at this event.  Brittany, along with the other young women attending Young Women Leaders Day, will meet with Cabinet members, Legislators and other prominent women from throughout New Jersey.  Brittany will learn how to effect change within State government, as well as be provided with a forum for voicing her opinions on how to make New Jersey a better place.

In a congratulatory letter, Dr. Thomas Kane, Morris County Superintendent of Schools commented to Brittany, “Your nomination letter details how you have exhibited strong leadership and community activism.”  The Roxbury School District is proud to have Brittany’s strong leadership skills recognized through this wonderful opportunity.
