Bob Messano, "Guitar Bob", is a teacher, musician, and recording artist who uses his music for instructional and humanitarian purposes. As a Kindergarten teacher at Franklin School in Roxbury he integrates his original songs into the curriculum every day. To support the Roxbury School District's Operation Hope he will present a concert to benefit schoolchildren affected by Hurricane Katrina. This effort follows in the footsteps of a highly successful fundraiser that Mr. Messano performed last year following the tsunami in Southeast Asia. The concert is designed for participatory family fun, featuring a bluesy blend of songs rooted in American traditional music. One song that Mr. Messano composed, "Mardi Gras Dance", fits right in with the celebratory theme of the evening. Take advantage of this special opportunity to enjoy exciting live music presented by a professional performer. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your contribution will benefit schoolchildren in need at our "sister school" in St. Bernard's Parish, Louisiana.
