As technology, communication and
business internationalize many aspects of our lives, mastering a second
language is becoming more and more valuable. The study of a world language is
in keeping with the finest tradition of a liberal arts education. Recognizing this fact, many colleges require
a minimum of two or three sequential years of world language study in high
school. The State of New Jersey has
mandated a minimum of 5 credits (one year) of world language study as a high
school graduation requirement.
