Entrepreneurship
Award – The 2009 Girls Going Place Entrepreneurship Award Program is
granting $1,000 to $10,000 to entrepreneurial and community-minded teen girls
ages 12 to 18. For more information,

Springfield
College – The college is hosting their Athletic Training Career Day on
Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the Allied Health Science Center on campus. For more information please see Miss Gripp

NJIT
– The Newark College of Engineering is again hosting its “Engineering Career
Day” on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 8:00am-1:30pm. The program is designed to give high school students an
opportunity to explore options in six diverse engineering fields, all on the
same day. Reservations are on a
first-come, first-serve basis. Deadline
to register is Wednesday, October 15th.
College
Fair – The NJ Department of Education is hosting their Malcolm Bernard
Historically Black Colleges and Universities College Fair of NJ from November
15th-21st at five regional sites.

Essay
Contest – The Foundation for Free Enterprise is hosting their annual B.
Franklin Reinauer II Free Enterprise Award, which is presented to the high
school student who submits the finest essay with the given title, “The Power of
the Free Market.” The winner of the
reward will receive a 4-year scholarship to Ramapo College of NJ. For additional information please call

Summer
Program – The NJ Scholars Program is an intensive inter-disciplinary
academic summer program for the most intelligent, outgoing, and highly
motivated NJ residents who will complete their junior year in June 2009 and be
rising seniors. This five-week summer
residential program takes places at the Lawrenceville School and is funded by
private contributions. If interested,

application deadline is Friday, January 9, 2009.
Essay
Contest – The 2009 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage essay contest is open
to all U.S. high school students.
Students are invited to write an original essay describing the political
courage of an elected official.
Deadline for submissions is January 10, 2009. For more details please visit www.jfklibrary.org.
Princeton
Prize – Each year the Princeton Prize in Race Relations, a program
sponsored by Princeton University, seeks to honor students in grades 9-12 who
are doing outstanding work in their schools or communities to advance the cause
of race relations. For more information
