Internet Safety
The Roxbury School District takes Internet Safety very seriously. All users on our network must first read, acknowledge and sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP):
All Internet traffic in district is filtered in compliance with the federal Children's Internet Compliance Act. This is an important aspect of ensuring that children are safe on the Internet and it also maintains our eligibility for federal eRate funding.
Student safe, educationally sound curriculum materials and searches are available via district subscriptions to Nettrekker, Brain Pop and Discovery Education. Additionally, all students are educated about appropriate online behavior through their computer / technology classes, work with Media Specialists, and instruction that is infused into classroom work involving online research. The district also periodically offers programs via the School Resource Officer and the Roxbury Township Police.
