Course Outlines

  • Child Development - Grades 10-11 (Formerly Education for Parenthood)

     

    Child Development is a year long course, which is designed to increase student knowledge of children, child development, parenting and relationships.  This course will combine classroom work in child development with observation and participation with community children in the child development lab. Developing the responsibilities required for parenting will be stressed.


    Life Management  - Grades 11-12

     

    Life Management is a year long course, which is designed to increase student knowledge of skills for everyday living.  This course focuses on the different aspects of decision-making, goal setting, ethics, money management and employment, which affect the student’s lives currently, and in the near future. Making informed decisions, banking and credit, budgeting, insurance, taxes, consumer rights and responsibilities, job skills and character development, are all addressed.  The student’s responsibility toward their financial future will be stressed.
