Summer Band (Grades 6-8) - Summer 2020

  • Musical Instruments for the Summer Band Program

The Summer Band program is an opportunity for all band students currently in grades 6-8 to continue and advance study on their instrument through the summer. Students will receive a large band and a small band ensemble experience on a daily basis - an opportunity not available during the school year. On Friday, at the conclusion of the program, parents will be invited to attend a short performance of what was accomplished during the week.

The instruments this program would be offered to are flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet/bass clarinet, saxophone (alto, tenor, baritone), trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion.

The benefits of participating in the Summer Band program are endless!

Instruments tend to get lonely between the months of June and September. Students work so hard during the school year to become musically proficient and often lose progress during the summer months. The Summer Band program offers an opportunity to maintain ground, learn new things, and keep the music going in a relaxed and fun environment.

How is Summer Band different from Regular Band?
