STEAM Expo: Gaels Going Green Expo
THIS EVENT HAS POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 2020! UPDATED INFORMATION WILL BE SENT ONCE FINALIZED.
Join Roxbury Township Public Schools green team on Sunday, November 3rd from 9 a.m. to noon for its first annual Gaels Going Green Sustainability Expo. The 2019 Expo will be a day of celebrating all things sustainable in and around Roxbury with vendors, interactive workshops, demonstrations, etc. This Expo will have information booths, classes, demonstrations, health checks, physical activities, and hands-on experience and interactions for all ages. Come find out how to live a more sustainable and healthy life!
Parts of Roxbury High School (Gym, classrooms, etc.) will serve as an exhibit hall, with tables staffed by professionals offering a variety of information and guidance on sustainability services.
This event is partially made possible thanks to grant funding from Sustainable Jersey for Schools Grants Program and the NJEA where Roxbury School District was one of 11 districts awarded a $10,000 grant in February 2019 for its STEAM Expos: Seeds of Sustainability and Gearing Gaels to Go Green proposal.
The district will host a tasting and composting session using aeroponic gardens and composters from five of the seven schools that were purchased using the grant funding. Leading up to this expo, students and staff will learn about gardening, healthy nutritional habits, and composting. Items grown and information learned will be turn-keyed to the public as we Gear Gaels to Go Green!
Travel GREEN by walking, biking, or carpooling to the expo.
