Roxbury PTA and PTO Groups to Host ‘Meet the Candidates Night’

Roxbury Township residents will have the opportunity to vote for three seats for a three-year term on the Roxbury Board of Education on the Tuesday, November 4th ballot.

In preparation for this election, the Roxbury PTA and PTO groups will co-host an upcoming ‘Meet the Candidates Night’ forum moderated by the Morris Area League of Women Voters in conjunction with West Morris Reporter, and the Morristown Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The Roxbury public is invited to this forum to learn more about the six candidates running and where they stand. This event will take place in the Lincoln/Roosevelt School Auditorium at 34 North Hillside Avenue in Succasunna, NJ on Thursday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m. The event will be live-streamed and available for viewing on the LWV Morris Area YouTube channel https://youtube.com/@lwvmorrisarea and recorded by Roxbury High School's Gaelvision.

15th Annual Roxbury Marching Band Classic

The 15th Annual Roxbury Marching Band Classic features several local and regional high school marching bands including performances by both of Roxbury High School's marching bands: The Marching Gaels and The Roxbury Sound. The event will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Roxbury High School, 1 Bryant Drive, Succasunna, NJ.

Character.org, a national advocate and leader for character development in schools and communities, today announced that Roxbury Public Schools was named a 2025 National District of Character. Roxbury along with two other districts and 71 schools received this distinction.

Roxbury Receive National Recognition for Music Education Support
Roxbury Township Public Schools has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for their outstanding support and commitment to music education. Now in its 26th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students.

Nineteen Roxbury High School Choir students were selected to the New Jersey All State Honors Choir with senior Jasper Fernandes earning first in the state. This prestigious ensemble is made up of the top singers across the state of New Jersey.

Roxbury Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations are Now Being Accepted
Alumni, faculty, staff, students, or friends of Roxbury Schools may submit nominations for the 11th annual Distinguished Alumni Award. All interested in submitting a nomination may complete and return the nomination form by no later than April 15, 2025 for the upcoming selection year. Fourteen Roxbury HS Students Accepted into Region Honors Ensembles
Fourteen Roxbury students successfully auditioned for the North Jersey School Music Association Region High School Honors Band and Choir. These ensembles are comprised of the top high school musicians across northern New Jersey. Six students were accepted into the honors bands and nine made it into the choirs.

Roxbury Opens Kindergarten Registration for 2025/2026
Roxbury Township Public Schools, a K-12 school district preparing the children of today for tomorrow, has opened Kindergarten registration for the 2025/2026 school year. Children must be five years old on or before October 1, 2025 to participate.

Franklin School Story Walk
Franklin Elementary School is excited to announce the permanent installation of a StoryWalk® along the path on the west side of the school. StoryWalk® was created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, in collaboration with former staff member Rachel Senechal and is a way to promote early literacy, physical activity, and family time together in nature.
