12 Roxbury Students Make All-Eastern and All-State Choir with Teacher Patrick Hachey Honored as Conductor

ROXBURY, NJ (March 3, 2026) – Roxbury Township Public Schools proudly congratulates RHS Director of Choirs and Lead Teacher of Performing Arts, Patrick Hachey, who was selected to conduct the NJ All-State Treble Choir from February 19-22. This distinguished honor has been awarded to only 10 high school teachers in the ensemble’s 25-year history. This marks the second time Mr. Hachey has been selected to conduct an All-State choir during his 26-year career in music education, including 22 years of dedicated service to the Roxbury community. RHS choir teacher Krista Sweer also served as pianist for the NJ All-State Treble Choir, proudly representing the Roxbury High School Choral Program at the state level. Roxbury Township Public Schools commends both educators for their exceptional leadership, talent, and commitment to excellence in the performing arts.

Four Roxbury High School choir students were selected to rehearse and perform with the NJ All-State Treble Choir under Mr. Hachey’s leadership in Atlantic City, NJ, from February 19-22. Sponsored by the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA), a statewide professional organization dedicated to advancing music education in New Jersey through advocacy, professional development, and honor ensembles that recognize outstanding student musicians. This prestigious opportunity highlights the students’ musical achievement. Congratulations to Kaleigh Bodtmann (12), Jen Buczynski (12), Nora Doyle (10), and Colleen Feeney (12) on this outstanding accomplishment.

Additionally, eight Roxbury students earned placement in the All-Eastern Treble and Mixed Choir, performing at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) East Conference in Providence, RI, from February 25–28. ACDA is a leading professional organization dedicated to supporting choral directors and promoting excellence in choral music through education, performance, and collaboration. Congratulations to Max Barton (11), Joe Borda (12), Jen Buczynski (12), Nora Doyle (10), Jasper Fernandes (12), Leah Nelson (10), Elizabeth Ricucci (12), and Caden Scire (12) on this exceptional achievement.
