Classic Sounds Honors selected to perform at ACDA Eastern Division Conference

ROXBURY, NJ (September 21, 2021) – Roxbury Classic Sounds Honors from Roxbury High School was selected to perform at the 2022 American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division Conference. They are one of only eighteen choirs chosen based on three years of recordings that passed two rounds of blind auditions.

Directed by Patrick Hachey, Classic Sounds Honors will serve as a model of high school mixed choirs for music educators all across the northeastern portion of the country.

The students will be performing on Thursday, February 10th in Boston, Massachusetts. Their program will begin with Mozart’s Laudate Pueri followed by a beautiful arrangement of the Chinese folk song Mo-Li-Hua by Hyo-won Woo. The choir will continue with I’ll Fly Away arranged by Shawn Kirchner and then move into a mini-set of Rosephanye Powell’s To Sit and Dream and The Music Stillness by Elaine Hagenberg. Classic Sounds will conclude their program with the rhythmic and energetic Haitian piece Ranpono by Sydney Guillaume.

Congratulations to director Patrick Hachey and the Roxbury High School students in the choir! For further information on performances, please contact Patrick Hachey or follow the Roxbury Choir Program on Instagram and Facebook
