Record-Breaking Twenty-Four Roxbury Students Make All-State Honors Choir

ROXBURY, NJ (May 17, 2023) – Twenty-four Roxbury High School Choir students were selected to the New Jersey All-State Honors Choir, the most in the history of the school. This prestigious ensemble is made up of the top singers from across the state of New Jersey. Roxbury also had nine students place in the top ten of their voice part.

The following students were selected for the New Jersey All-State Mixed Choir: Katie Becker (#9 Alto 2), Rebecca Borda, Carly Curtiss, David Doherty (#10 Bass 2), Jasper Fernandes (#5 Alto 2), Julia Gonzalez, Jaiden Lenihan, Norbert Martinez (#9 Tenor 1), Justin Masi (#1 Bass 2), Sam Rippon, Caiden Scire (#3 Tenor 1), Riley Shivas, Nicholas Spivak, and Catherine Turro (#7 Alto 2).

The following students were selected for the New Jersey All-State Treble Choir: Colleen Feeney, Olivia Hachey, Airyana Hoover (#2 Soprano 2), Jamie Kudler, Cassandra Maningo, Isabella Negron (#8 Soprano 2), Annabelle Plociniak, Janelle Pratt, Elizabeth Ricucci, and Angelina Riveros.

This is a huge accomplishment for these students who worked hard to prepare and record auditions in order to earn this honor. The purpose of the NJ All-State Chorus is to offer a unique educational experience to the best-qualified vocal students in New Jersey. Accepted students will perform choral literature of the highest quality, under the direction of an outstanding conductor. The NJ All-State Mixed Choir will perform at the NJ Performing Arts Center in November and the All-State Treble Choir will have their concert in February.
