Franklin School Holds Kids Heart Challenge to Raise Funds for the American Heart Association

Franklin Students participate in the Kids Heart Challenge

ROXBURY, NJ (April 3, 2019) – Students at Franklin Elementary School in Roxbury Township worked in conjunction with the American Heart Association and the Franklin School Early Act Club to hold the 2019 Kids Heart Challenge on Thursday, March 28th.

This fun and exciting event helped students learn about their heart while helping others to raise money for the American Heart Association.

Organizer and the Franklin Physical Education Teacher Russ Redmond shared, “The purpose of the program was to bring awareness to living a heart-healthy life.”

All students in the school participated in six different cardio stations that included short jump ropes, long jump ropes, step aerobics, bean bag shuttle, dice fitness exercises, and hands and heart activities during 40-minute periods.

Redmond added, “In addition to learning about making healthy choices and the importance of daily exercise, the school raised over $6,000 for the American Heart Association.”

According to the American Heart Association website, “The Kids Heart Challenge prepares your child for success through physical and emotional well-being.”
