Two EMS Students Compete in Nashville in Solar Car Competition

solar2016

Two students, Marc Anthony Scalera and Charles Nino competed this week in Nashville, TN in the Solar Sprint Solar Car Competition.

The project  goal was to build the fastest solar car possible using any materials we could find. The car could only be propelled by the power of the given solar panel and motor. The res of the design was all from the students. Students also had to create a shoebox display and log all of their findings (including design drawings) in an engineering notebook.

Unfortunately, they didn’t make it into today's top 16 finals. The boys put forth a great effort yesterday and have been working incredibly hard on this project for the past 2 months.

They represent Eisenhower Middle School - Roxbury and Roxbury Public Schools like true champions. We are proud of what they were able to accomplish and look forward to next year. I know they already have ideas on how to improve their design and make it even better! Great job Marc Anthony and Charles!
