ROXBURY, NJ (January 11, 2019) – Roxbury Schools applied and was selected to present at this year’s International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference on Finding Your Wings After You’ve Jumped Off the EDGE.

Roxbury’s Director of Instructional Innovation and Planning, Michael Mitchell along with Roxbury’s Director of Technology Teresa Rehman, and Roxbury’s Technology Integration Specialist Ruth Davis will present in June at the Philadelphia Convention Center. Their poster presentation will be on the digital badging program the district has embarked upon this past year.

Roxbury’s team will inform ISTE attendees on how Roxbury is working to implement a sustainable, innovative, and personalized approach to learning for our students and staff and how digital badging offers more than just professional development. Roxbury Schools is exploring how credentialing for skills that are not assessed through traditional methods are so vital in the college and career readiness placement.

“With the ISTE Conference being ‘recognized globally as the most comprehensive educational technology conference in the world’ with over 16,000 attendees, it is a tremendous honor to be selected to present. Being able to share some of the innovative learning experiences Roxbury is developing for staff and students with other forward-thinking ed-tech enthusiasts will play a part in helping transform teaching and learning globally. That’s really something to be excited about!” shared Davis.

ISTE is a non-profit organization that works with the global education community to accelerate the use of technology to solve tough problems and inspire innovation. The ISTE Conference and Expo is recognized globally as the most comprehensive educational technology conference in the world. It provides educators and education leaders to engage in hands-on learning, exchange ideas and network with like-minded thinkers seeking to transform learning and teaching.

Mitchell added, “It is not easy to be accepted so this is an honor for our district.”
