ROXBURY, NJ (December 5, 2019) – Members of Rox-THON visited Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, NJ on November 21st. Students and club advisors Maddie Taggart at Goryeb had an opportunity to meet the personnel they’ll be working with through their new partnership as well as took a tour of the facilities to see where their efforts would be going.

Students toured the infusion suite and healing garden before attending the Sim Lab demonstration and Calling All Kids studio. After lunch, Joanna Wright, Executive Director for Pediatric Services addressed the group. Dr. Steve Halpern and Ashley Egidio, RN spoke about the Valerie Center at GCH and shared plans for the center’s expansion. Students ended their day making slime kits for patients.

Rox-THON, formerly known as mini-THON at Roxbury High School is a club as well as an event. Rox-THON continues its work toward the same cause, curing pediatric cancer. A majority of this year’s proceeds will now stay local. Donations will go to Goryeb Children’s Hospital and 30% of those proceeds will support pediatric cancer research through Four Diamonds (Penn State Children’s Hospital).

Roxbury High School will host its 7th Annual event to fight childhood cancer on Friday, March 13, 2020.
