ROXBURY, NJ (January 8, 2020) – The North Jersey School Music Association held its annual Region 1 Band auditions on January 4th, where approximately 450 students competed to earn a seat in one of two honors bands, and the orchestra’s wind and percussion section.

Seven students from Roxbury High School were accepted into one of the ensembles and will participate in three rehearsals before putting on a concert at Parsippany Hills High School on Sunday, January 26th (Bands), or at James Caldwell High School on Sunday, February 9th (Orchestra).

Zach Solano earned the highest score of all auditioning tubas in northern New Jersey and will be performing with the Orchestra. Nick Morris (mallets) will be performing with both the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. Jess Miller earned the principal trombone chair in the Symphonic Band. Jon Fragale (baritone saxophone), Paulie Kemmerer (soprano saxophone), Christian Maroulis (clarinet), and Andrew Wilson (french horn) will also be performing with the Symphonic Band.

Congratulations to all students who auditioned and we wish the seven RHS participants a great performance!
