Roxbury HS Selects November Students of the Month

ROXBURY, NJ (January 23, 2020) – Thirteen high school students from Roxbury High School were named Students of the Month for November.

Teachers nominate students for their performance in any of the eleven departments: Math, Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts, World Languages, Business, Family and Consumer Sciences, Engineering Design and Technology, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Health/Physical Education. Students can also be selected for the category of Citizenship, Most Improved, and School Spirit. 

November’s winners were:

  • English - Soloman McGriff (Gr 10)
  • Performing Arts - Briana Bailey (Gr 12) and Alexsys Fabiani (Gr 12)
  • World Language - Ryleigh Coakley (Gr 12)
  • Social Studies - Carlos Duque (Gr 10)
  • Visual Arts - Mathew Talmadge (Gr 11)
  • Science - Micaela Alejandra Barraza Agama (Gr 9)
  • Business - Linvia Ong (Gr 10)
  • Health and Physical Education - Preston Chey (Gr 11)
  • Engineering Design & Technology - Mariana Leal (Gr 9)
  • Math - Layla McKenna (Gr 12)
  • Family and Consumer Sciences - Randy DePalma (Gr 11)
  • Most Improved - Elijah Tom Asuncion (Gr 12)
  • Citizenship - James Beale (Gr 12)


Winners each receive a certificate, a Roxbury drawstring bag and coupons from Jersey Mikes, Cliff’s Ice Cream, Roxbury Bagels, and Circle Bowl and Entertainment. Thank you to all the local businesses that help support our students! 

The students that do not win but were nominated get a copy of the nomination letter.
