Supervisor of Special Services

My name is Jennifer Dempsey, and I am the PreK–12+ Supervisor of Special Education for the Roxbury Township Public Schools. I’d like to share a bit about my professional background.
After earning my Bachelor’s Degree from Montclair State University in 2002, I began my career at Goryeb Children’s Hospital as a Certified Child Life Specialist. I later completed both my Masters and Educational Specialist Degrees in School and Community Psychology at Seton Hall University, along with NJDOE Certification as a School Psychologist.
I began working as a school psychologist in 2008 in the Hillsborough Township Public Schools, serving students in grades PreK–8 for nine years. In 2017, I joined the Bernards Township School District, where I continued as a school psychologist and case manager at the elementary level. During my years as a school psychologist, I gained extensive expertise in preschool and elementary regular and special education, as well as exposure to middle school and high school evaluation, assessment and program planning.
In 2022, I completed the coursework to earn my NJDOE Supervisor Certification, fulfilling a long-held professional goal. I joined Roxbury Township Public Schools as Supervisor of Special Education in October 2024. I truly enjoy being part of this warm, collaborative community and look forward to continuing to support and strengthen our educational programs for students and families.
