Roxbury High School Choir Department Sweeps the Competition in Boston

ROXBURY, NJ (April 30, 2024) - The Choir Department from Roxbury High School swept the competition at the WorldStrides Heritage Festival in Boston, Massachusetts this past weekend, taking home four first place awards, three second place, and the award for Best Overall Choir regardless of division for Classic Sounds Honors.

The choirs achieved six gold ratings and one silver, three adjudicator awards given only to ensembles scoring 95 or higher, and the Sweepstakes Award given to the highest combined total of two groups from one school for Melodies and Classic Sounds Honors.

In addition, three Roxbury students, Olivia Hachey (12), Cassandra Maningo (11), and Isabella Negron (12), were awarded individual student achievement awards.

The competing choirs were Roxbury Melodies, Glee Club, Sensation, Revelation, Chorale, Classic Sounds Honors, and the Festival Choir under the direction of Patrick Hachey, Krista Sweer, and R. Daniel Salyerds.
